Job Summary
Oxford Commercial Finance is seeking a driven, self-motivated, financially focused individual who has an interest in gaining hands-on experience. The Junior Field Examiner program provides a unique opportunity for new graduates to learn, work, and contribute to an industry leading environment. Junior Field Examiners will be trained on items such as bank policies and procedures, field exam templates and programs, collateral monitoring systems, types of collateral, and risks to collateral. Duties to include assisting more experienced Examiners in the completion of field exams, this may include analyzing financial statements, reviewing cash transactions, testing of primary collateral items such as accounts receivable and inventory.
Primary Responsibilities
• Verify the existence and analyze performance of client’s collateral.
• Verify the accuracy of the client’s books and records.
• Verify the accuracy and analyze the client's reporting to Bank.
• Verify credit facility is managed in adherence to approved structure.
• Spread and analyze client’s financial statements to assess financial performance and cash flow and potential red flags to collateral.
• Communicate regularly with Credit Department and Field Exam Department before, during and after the field exam.
• Prepare a clear and concise written report summarizing the results of the exam and make recommendations.
• Assist Staff and Senior Field Examiners on exams as needed.
• Schedule field exams with clients.
• Track time spent completing the field exam to ensure proper billing to the client.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Field Exam team members are proactive, process-oriented, analytical, creative and highly engaged with their work, their team members and their internal and external clients. Successful team members are detail-oriented, effective communicators, and are successful in handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree is required; a concentration in accounting or finance is preferred.
• Heavy travel required. Approximately 60% of the year will require travel. Travel is defined as nights away from home (typically Monday through Thursday).
